About

Archie Cook, Web Developer

I work from Wiltshire, UK and run AJWC Tech Consulting Ltd, taking on design and build work for small businesses.

Background

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Cyber Security from Bath Spa University. It is the reason security, performance and accessibility are built into the work rather than added at the end, though Web development is what I do day to day.

Five builds delivered so far: sites for a sound-system hire company, a music producer, an Oracle data consultancy and a 3D artist, plus an interior design tool that draws a room and quotes it in one place. Umbra, Alice Cook and Elevate are live; Kritikal launches shortly, and the Oracle site stays private at the client’s request while changes are finished. Each was handed over with documentation so the owner can maintain it. Alongside the client work sits one in-house build, SlayYard, an online browser shooter that proves out real-time multiplayer, accounts and card payments before a client pays for any of them.

How this site is built

The logo in the background is 3D geometry, extruded at runtime from the same SVG file the favicon uses. If your device cannot run WebGL, a lighter 2D version of the same mark takes over; if your system settings ask for reduced motion, it is shown still. Either way, no content is lost.
